Inawashiro, located in the Aizu district of Fukushima Prefecture, lies between Mount Bandai in the north and Lake Inawashiro in the south. It is a resort area where people come to enjoy the picturesque landscape throughout the four seasons. Inawashiro gets more than a meter of snow in winter. It is also known as the birthplace of the Hideyo Noguchi. The town offers plentiful first-rate leisure activities, from skiing and mountain climbing to marine sports and hot springs. Inawashiro is also well-known for its fine food. The town’s specialties, which include some of Japan’s best soba, rice, sake, beef, tomatoes, milk, miso, and more, leave visitors wanting for nothing.
